OUR SUSTAINABILITY WORK
For a brighter tomorrow
Creating memorable experiences goes hand in hand with taking responsibility. We have been certified according to ISO 20121 since 2015, but our sustainability journey began long before that, in 1997. Today, bees thrive in hives on our rooftops, all our electricity comes from wind power, and we continuously work to reduce food waste while finding new ways to make our operations more sustainable.
ACCOMMODATION
Always improving, one room at a time
Whenever we refurbish our rooms, we carefully select durable materials and furnishings designed to last. It's an approach that shapes every part of our interiors, from guest rooms to our lobby.
To make your stay a little more sustainable, we provide Swedish-made shampoo, conditioner and body wash in every room. All 1,200 hotel rooms are also connected to Smartvatten's monitoring system, allowing us to track water consumption in real time and optimise usage for the future.

FOOD & DRINK
Good food, thoughtfully prepared
Food accounts for around 30% of our total climate footprint, making it one of our key sustainability priorities. Our restaurants and bars combine memorable dining experiences with carefully selected ingredients, with a strong focus on organic, locally sourced and Fairtrade-certified products whenever possible. We also calculate the climate impact of our menus, work actively to reduce food waste and make full use of every ingredient.
Surplus food is given a second life through Too Good To Go and donations to the Gothenburg City Mission, helping ensure that good food never goes to waste unnecessarily. Our coffee, tea, milk and bananas are always organic, and all our coffee is Fairtrade certified.

GETTING HERE
Easy to reach, easy to travel sustainably
Travelling to and from your hotel is often the largest contributor to the climate impact of your stay. That's why we make it easy to choose more sustainable ways to travel. Located next to Korsvägen, Gothia Towers is easily reached by train, bus or tram.
Once you're here, much of Gothenburg is within walking distance, while the rest of the city is just a short tram ride away, giving you easy access to shopping, restaurants, bars, events and attractions. -
More ways we’re making a difference
A sustainable start to the day
Start your day with our coffee, always 100% Fairtrade certified and organic. Naturally, our milk and tea are organic too, for a more sustainable and flavourful start to your day.
Hard-working colleagues on the roof
Around 150,000 bees are buzzing on our rooftop, helping to support pollination and biodiversity in the local area. Their work produces our own honey, a small but important contribution to a more sustainable future.
Solar power from the rooftop
Our solar power installation, the largest in central Gothenburg, generates around 150 MWh each year and reduces CO₂ emissions by 57 tonnes, equivalent to 600 flights between Stockholm and Gothenburg. Take a look from the glass bridge between Tower 2 and Tower 3!
Smarter water use
All 1,200 of our hotel rooms are connected to Smartvatten's monitoring system. By tracking water consumption in real time, we can optimise our usage and help conserve one of the planet's most valuable resources.
Climate-calculated breakfast
Make more conscious choices from the very start of your day. In our breakfast restaurant, a clear symbol shows the climate impact of each item. Discover how small choices can make a big difference.
8 tonnes less plastic
By replacing small single-use bottles with wall-mounted dispensers, we have reduced our hard plastic consumption by 8 tonnes, while also cutting unnecessary transport and waste.
